Youth Can Do It!
Them, an organization dedicated to sharing LGBTQ+ stories, posted a video for the Trans Day of Visibility last March 31, 2023.
Personalities like Bella Ramsey, Geena Rocero, ALOK, NikkieTutorials, Elliot Page, and Dylan Mulvaney and many others came together to share their message of love and solidarity for young trans followers.
The video starts with Kai Shappley, a 12 year-old, sharing her story about how Texas is not safe for kids like Kai.
“You are a gift to this world. You are the future of the people whose existence has exemplified liberation for generations. And so terrifying as these times may be, we shall overcome. Because they have thrown everything they can at us, but we are still here. Our community is strongest when we stand together. [...] It means coming together to defend our most vulnerable and our most valuable members– our youth. [...] Now is the time to raise our voices and say: to my trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming community, the hate ends here.
You are extraordinary, you are inspiring, and you are exactly who you are meant to be.
Because you are the future.” — Emphasized by the personalities in the video.
‘Them’ also stated in their caption that “Hate ends here.”
